Examples

examples/ contains standalone Rust packages and YAML recipes. The Rust packages teach reusable crates and specific runtime seams; they are not extra browser destinations or proof that every demonstrated primitive is wired into the product daemon.

Run package commands from the repository root.

PackageDemonstratesRun
stigmergic-workflowExample-owned activation loop over reusable event-lattice signals and a dependency DAG; not the daemon’s Automation executorcargo run -p stigmergic-workflow
skills-latticeExample-owned reacts_to/holder fan-out; product Skills instead publish events for On Skill/On event Automationscargo run -p skills-lattice
htn-plannerSymbolic HTN decomposition and model frontierscargo run -p htn-planner
crash-recoveryStandalone multi-step checkpoint and skip-completed recoverycargo run -p crash-recovery
PackageDemonstratesRun
memory-recallCore memory, semantic recall, and consolidation; optional neural embeddingscargo run -p memory-recall
multi-providerPer-Agent provider selection and example cost arithmetic using mockscargo run -p multi-provider

Use cargo run -p memory-recall -- --with-embeddings for its neural path.

PackageDemonstratesRun
tool-hooksLibrary-level pre/post hooks, audit output, and a denied traversal writecargo run -p tool-hooks
mcp-bridgeExternal stdio MCP tool calls and the Agent-as-MCP-server directioncargo run -p mcp-bridge
a2a-serverIn-process A2A discovery/task server and clientcargo run -p a2a-server
sandbox-sessionReviewed environment contract, curated images, fail-closed Podman readiness, root Node dependency isolation, and live sandbox pathcargo run -p sandbox-session

The YAML hooks: section is currently inactive even though tool-hooks demonstrates the lower-level hook interfaces. The normal sandbox-session run prints and tests the contract without Podman; its ignored live test requires a ready Podman installation and proves both Workspace sharing and root node_modules masking.

PackageDemonstratesRun
proactive-agentsLegacy schedule/event YAML projection and trigger guardscargo run -p proactive-agents
research-assistantMock-provider Agent coordination and aggregationcargo run -p research-assistant
code-reviewerMock-provider review workflow and token budgetcargo run -p code-reviewer
customer-supportMock-provider routing/support workflowcargo run -p customer-support

Read each package README before interpreting output; several use mocks by design so they can verify orchestration without live provider credentials.

Every current examples/configs/*.yaml recipe passes the structural config validator in this source tree:

FileDemonstratesExtra requirement
research-pipeline.yamlTwo-Agent legacy workflow seed to a manual AutomationOllama
feature-dev.yamlMulti-stage legacy dependency graph seedOllama
incident-response.yamlSkill event metadata and manual graph seedOllama; add Automation trigger for reachable reaction
local-only.yamlOllama with no hosted keys and Session sandbox network disabledOllama; image must already contain required in-container commands

event-webhooks.yamlFiltered HMAC-signed event webhook egressOllama and intentional receiver/secrets

Validate one without starting it:

Terminal window
axocoatl validate examples/configs/research-pipeline.yaml

Then use an isolated data root for a live run:

Terminal window
AXOCOATL_DATA_DIR=/absolute/path/to/example-data \
axocoatl dev --config examples/configs/research-pipeline.yaml
